In the first half of 2010 Matt has composed music for three plays: Alice in Wonderland (Southampton, Basingstoke and Guildford), Star of Wormwood (for a Performing Arts College in Melbourne), and Lord of The Flies for a young people’s company in Cornwall. He has also been working as musical director in Perth (WA) and London in the spring. His own young people’s company Jigsaw Music Theatre have performed a very successful musical adaptation of the Canterbury Tales in Chester and The Crash of The Rhinos which heralded the arrival of Rhinomania in Chester. Matt composed and directed Noah’s Flood to literally thousands of people in Chester’s amphitheatre in June for Chester Mystery Plays. Matt’s choir A Handbag of Harmonies celebrated their tenth anniversary in style, offering a whole new level of style and repertoire. Matt’s professional company Theatre in the Quarter, successful with Arts Council funding, are preparing for two exciting professional productions in the Autumn; ‘James‘ and ‘Forgotten Fortress‘ which will be touring Cheshire and beyond. Meanwhile Matt has just returned from creating new theatre in Devon and Cornwall.
