Reviews:
Matt Baker’s music segues confidently from salsa to ecclesiastical, and points in between.
- The Guardian ****

This may be the fifth time Matt Baker has composed the music for a Mystery Plays cycle but I have no hesitation in declaring this not only his best work for the project since he first took up the mantle in 2003 but possibly the finest score he has ever written. Its contribution to the power and passion of the production cannot be over-stated and it is his work which elevates this to the scale of a Hollywood epic.
- Cheshire Live *****

Behind the screen is the orchestra and the choir in the choir stalls and, although we can’t see them, they make a wonderful sound. Composer and musical director Matt Baker has a great deal to be proud of.
- Northern Soul

...an impressive and slickly delivered spectacle, which is colourful, noisy, entertaining and, at times, genuinely moving.
- The Stage ****

And it is all underscored by a beautiful and at times haunting soundtrack from the hugely talented Matt Baker and his musicians and chorus. It feels ethereal and heavenly at times, particularly in this majestic and glorious setting.
